What is Kids Ministry?
Redeemer Kids exists to come alongside parents, equipping them and partnering with parents to disciple their children. Our mission is to help children become disciples of Jesus Christ.
We believe children, like adults, need Jesus’ saving grace and love. We seek to demonstrate these elements of God’s character by relating biblical Christ-centered truth in age and developmentally appropriate ways that children will both enjoy and understand.
Also, we want the children in our church to love God’s word, love the church as a whole, see that the church is beyond what happens on Sunday, and ultimately live their lives for Jesus Christ.
What We Do
Nursery
We serve babies from 6 months to 1.5 years in this area. We provide a snack if wanted. It is more than a babysitting service. It is the launching pad for nurturing the faith of our children whom God has entrusted to us. At this age, children are taught by praying for them and blessing them in Jesus’ name. In this way, our nursery forms an integral beginning for our children’s ministry.
Toddler
We serve kids from 1.5 – 3 years in this classroom. We teach a short Bible story that shares a basic Biblical truth with the children. They are big-picture statements that share the truth about God and the gospel. We share a short scripture passage with the kids. We sing songs and have fun learning about Jesus. We provide playtime and a take-home craft.
Preschool
Our preschool class serves kids from 3-5 years of age. In this class, we lay a strong biblical foundation. We teach an age-appropriate lesson, make a craft related to the lesson, sing songs, have playtime, and learn about God’s word.
K-2nd Grade and 3rd-5th Grade
We focus on Bible literacy, fun scripture memory, our weekly lesson, short prayer time, and playtime in each classroom. Emphasize knowing how the major Bible doctrines and stories fit together as one grand story with Christ at its center. We facilitate cooperative activities that allow the kids to get to know one another and build community in their classes.
